A Custom A Day.... 365 days of custom figures Day 92 - DC Direct 1st Appearance Terra by 4:F4/2/2015 This is one of my most recent custom pieces that I've created. I've yet to see a Terra custom done in this costume in any form, it only lasted one issue so that makes sense but since she's my favorite DC character I had to have her. I've had the pieces forever but I lacked the Galactus looking horns and the ability to sculpt them. Then I notice the Galactus Minimate's helmet had the same horns which looked to be in scale. She uses a DC Direct Terra as her base with a DC Universe Classics Dove ponytail and the carefully cut off Galactus minimate "horns". Her Lockjaw style head antenna was sculpted as were her boot and glove cuffs. The rest is paint. She required a TON of sanding to remove her hair and original belt, boots and glove cuffs. Unfortunately with her redesign, the boot and glove cuffs from her original costume fell higher up on her arms & legs. She sat unfinished for a very long time. I'd still like to add waterslide decals to her thighs and biceps to add the box detailing but since I'm helpless with those this will have to do.

A Custom A Day....
Since
I began toy collecting as a hobby back in 1990 I have always had a
need for custom figures. Toy companies begin action figure lines, begin
to release individual characters to create teams and, more often than
not leave them incomplete. Many collectors find that custom figures
pollute their collection's authenticity by not being mass produced
creations from the toy companies that created the preexisting toy lines.
I disagree. I feel a quality custom action figure enhances a
collection and help create a complete picture. Archives
