DC Icons line makes me nervous. After Mattel's Club Infinite Earths was cancelled I didn't think DC Collectibles would focus on the classic DC Universe since they moved on to a 7 inch scale nu 52. It took them two years but DC Collectibles has decided to fill the void Mattel left. I worry that some of the figures I've customized will see a retail release. Phobia is one of those figures. My army of female Legionnaires are another example but more on that later. Phobia uses a Star Sapphire body, a movie Jean Grey head and a cape from the fodder bin.

A Custom A Day....
Since
I began toy collecting as a hobby back in 1990 I have always had a
need for custom figures. Toy companies begin action figure lines, begin
to release individual characters to create teams and, more often than
not leave them incomplete. Many collectors find that custom figures
pollute their collection's authenticity by not being mass produced
creations from the toy companies that created the preexisting toy lines.
I disagree. I feel a quality custom action figure enhances a
collection and help create a complete picture. Archives
