A Custom A Day.... 365 days of custom figures Day 93 - DC Universe Classics Kole by LooseCollector4/3/2015 Kole is the third and most recent custom figure that I own from the incomparable LooseCollector. Kole was a challenge to get made, I spoke with 3 different artists to try to get her done but her "cape" turned everyone away. It actually took a bit of convincing to get Dave to agree to make this figure. At one point he asked me why my costume choices were always so difficult. My response was "Because you can do anything" and once again he proved me right. It is true that her "cupcake" style "cape" is challenging to translate in to 3D form without it looking strange but I believe he did it. The cape and skirt completely limit her ability to move by she looks great on the shelf in her static pose. The metallic paints really make her stand out. Her head was revised, the original hair sculpt made her look more like Jamie Lee Curtis than Kole. This revision made her softer and younger looking.

I love Kole and I'm so jealous of this figure.

A Custom A Day....
Since
I began toy collecting as a hobby back in 1990 I have always had a
need for custom figures. Toy companies begin action figure lines, begin
to release individual characters to create teams and, more often than
not leave them incomplete. Many collectors find that custom figures
pollute their collection's authenticity by not being mass produced
creations from the toy companies that created the preexisting toy lines.
I disagree. I feel a quality custom action figure enhances a
collection and help create a complete picture. Archives
