A Custom A Day.... 365 days of custom figures Day 60 - 1st Appearance Rogue Minimate by Psyguy3/1/2015 March is Minimate month at Pop Culture Hoard. I have a pretty extensive custom Minimate collection. In my opinion they are the perfect toy. With a face decal, an appropriate hair piece and a coat of paint these wonderful little block figures can be just about anyone from any property. Diamond Select Toys (DST) is gaining more and more licenses to produce Minimates of older properties all the time. From Pulp Fiction to Kill Bill, from SpongeBob to Aliens. They seemingly can make just about anything into a minimate. I love the simplicity of their design. Today is a 1st appearance Rogue by the incomparable Psyguy. Psyguy makes amazing Marvel Minimate customs, hell Psyguy makes amazing MINIMATES period. His work looks like they were produced in a factory. Clean lines and perfect sculpted details. DST has done a great job of producing some rather obscure character renditions in ther Marvel Minimate line. 1st appearance Psylocke and Outback Rogue are two customs that I had Psyguy make for me that DST eventually produced. I'm usually pretty good at picking renditions of characters to have customs made of that I know toy companies won't touch. The Minimate line is the only line that has tripped me up by producing duplicate pieces but I'm not complaining. I'm certain this figure will eventually see an official release as she was rendered on a Minimate Secret Wars promotional poster a few years back but we'll see. In the meantime, here's the custom version.

A Custom A Day....
Since
I began toy collecting as a hobby back in 1990 I have always had a
need for custom figures. Toy companies begin action figure lines, begin
to release individual characters to create teams and, more often than
not leave them incomplete. Many collectors find that custom figures
pollute their collection's authenticity by not being mass produced
creations from the toy companies that created the preexisting toy lines.
I disagree. I feel a quality custom action figure enhances a
collection and help create a complete picture. Archives
