A Custom A Day.... 365 days of custom figures Day 215 - A Pup Named Scooby Doo Scooby figure by 4:F8/4/2015 A Pup Named Scooby Doo is the single most popular custom set on my website. It has the most searches month after month. Scooby Doo didn't start receiving the merchandising treatment until the late 90's. This incarnation of Scooby Doo only received this PVC figurine and a set of plastic watches with each of the characters faces from an overseas cereal promotion or gumball machine. This was released in a bleached out peach tone rather than brown like he was in the show so I painted him. The rest of the gang remains undone in plastic, so I had my pal Flipmode make them for me out of Fimo. I'll be sharing them over the next couple of days.

A Custom A Day....
Since
I began toy collecting as a hobby back in 1990 I have always had a
need for custom figures. Toy companies begin action figure lines, begin
to release individual characters to create teams and, more often than
not leave them incomplete. Many collectors find that custom figures
pollute their collection's authenticity by not being mass produced
creations from the toy companies that created the preexisting toy lines.
I disagree. I feel a quality custom action figure enhances a
collection and help create a complete picture. Archives
