A Custom A Day.... 365 days of custom figures Day 20 - Marvel Legends Betsy Braddock as Captain Britain
This was a figure that I requested Face Customs create for me although it was her first costume, it is the last Psylocke that was customized. Psylocke is best known for the ninja look that Jim Lee gave her back in the 90's. Any merchandise created using Psylocke depicts her as Asian. I wanted her represented in all of her looks from when she was still British.
I searched the Internet looking for the best recipe for the easiest execution of Betsy in this costume but couldn't find any. I believe this is the only custom figure of Betsy in the costume. This is the suit she wore when Slaymaster tore her eyes out in the Captain Britain UK series. It was short lived but I liked the design so I commissioned her.
Face Customs sculpts some of the most dynamic hair of any customizer that I've worked with. It's always a challenge to tell what base figures he uses because of the detailed sculpting. The flow, bounce and curls make his work look factory produced.
A Custom A Day....
I began toy collecting as a hobby back in 1990 I have always had a
need for custom figures. Toy companies begin action figure lines, begin
to release individual characters to create teams and, more often than
not leave them incomplete. Many collectors find that custom figures
pollute their collection's authenticity by not being mass produced
creations from the toy companies that created the preexisting toy lines.
I disagree. I feel a quality custom action figure enhances a
collection and help create a complete picture.
