A Custom A Day.... 365 days of custom figures Day 17 - Toy Biz 5 inch Captain Marvel/Photon figure by 4:F
Photon was one of my more challenging customs that I did back in the 90's. She required sculpting for her hair and a few pieces to be Frankensteined together. Her construction had limited most of her articulation. Her "cape" pieces are cut from a Water Wars Storm and glued to her arms so they no longer bend. Her head and body are from an Alpha Flight Vindicator and her boots are from Blink. her chest emblem is larger than I would like but it was challenging to paint it in her cleavage. I would love for Hasbro to do her in the Marvel Universe line.
A Custom A Day....
I began toy collecting as a hobby back in 1990 I have always had a
need for custom figures. Toy companies begin action figure lines, begin
to release individual characters to create teams and, more often than
not leave them incomplete. Many collectors find that custom figures
pollute their collection's authenticity by not being mass produced
creations from the toy companies that created the preexisting toy lines.
I disagree. I feel a quality custom action figure enhances a
collection and help create a complete picture.
